How often should I tune my piano?

If you live in a home with central air and heat that is relatively climate controlled, an annual or every-6-month tuning schedule is sufficient.

If you have more specialized circumstances, such as using your piano to record or to play with other instruments, you may wish to tune more frequently, such as every 2-3 months.

If your piano is part of institutional use such as in a school or church, you will have a frequent tuning schedule set up to your specific needs.

Where should I put my piano?

Position piano away from direct sunlight, windows or doors that open frequently, outflow vents, window units, or any other fans, air purifiers, or humidifiers/dehumidifiers.

How should I clean my piano?

Do not use any wood cleaners on your piano (such as Pledge). Use only a fine, microfiber cloth (or blue shop towels) slightly dampened with plain water.

Use care when wiping the keys as you don’t want moisture to seep between the keys.

If you get something stuck in your piano (paperclip, pencil, etc…), just get in touch!

Rug or caster cups?

This is a personal choice! Neither is better when it comes to protecting your floors. Some like the feel and look of a rug or carpet underneath their feet when playing the piano (I do!), but caster cups will protect your floors and evenly distribute the weight between all the casters on your piano.
